Choose your keyphrase
First, think of a two-word phrase that people search for to find your site. That's your "key phrase."

Step 2

Create the Page
Make a page about your primary key phrase. Place the key phrase once in the title and once in the meta tags. Make your total visible word depth about 400 and the total keyword density about 3%. Use a Keyword Density Analyzer to verify your word depth and keyword density.

Step 3

Generate Link Popularity
Exchange links for link popularity. Make links with similar, directory listed sites. (Get your site listed in Yahoo.)

Step 4

Request Indexing
Manual submission is more reliable than automated submission. Go to the Search Engine Watch list of major search engines and submit your optimized pages from there.

Step 5

Be Patient
Do not re-submit your site more than once a week. It may take several weeks (and in some cases, as long as 6 months) for your page to appear in the major search engines. If you have a page that ranks well, do not change it or re-submit it.
